Portsmouth are poised to re-sign Ricardo Rocha, while boss Steve Cotterill is looking to add another couple of players on loan.
The Portuguese defender was offered a new contract over the summer but it was unclear whether he would accept following Pompey's relegation from the Premier League.

Portsmouth signing Liam Lawrence admits it was a wrench leaving Stoke City.
The 28-year-old signed by fax from his Republic of Ireland training camp in Dublin on deadline day as part of a deal which also saw Dave Kitson move to Pompey and Marc Wilson come the other way.

Portsmouth striker David Nugent is in the sights of Blackpool.
The Blackpool Gazette says Nugent is the latest striker to be linked with a move to Blackpool.
Portsmouth frontman Nugent was on loan at Burnley last season and has plenty of top-flight experience.
With relegated Pompey struggling in the Championship, and Nugent one of the bigger earners at the club, Pool would appear to have a chance of signing him.

Portsmouth have signed goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan on a month-long deal.
The 32-year-old made 340 starts for Southend before joining Crystal Palace in 2008 where he spent time on loan at Oldham before being released.
He has been training with the club for the last month and goes into the squad for Saturday's game against Cardiff.
He is the brother of former Pompey keeper Aaron Flahavan who was killed in a car crash in August 2001 after playing over 100 games for the club.

Former Arsenal striker Kanu has yet to make an appearance for Pompey this season due to the dispute, which has lasted all summer.
Administrator Andrew Andronikou told The News: "We are hopeful of announcing something about Kanu.
"All things being equal, we could have him registered and playing on Saturday.
"The manager and the player get on very well, it has just been a case of solving the contract issue."
